I am Amy, a 26 year old Basic Skill teacher in South Jersey. This will be my fifth year teaching. I taught Title 1 intervention in Ohio for three years. Then, I moved to New Jersey last year and taught Basic Skills. Through it all, I have taught Science, Reading, and Math intervention for grades K-5. Last year, I also coached track for the first time ever and loved it.
THESE ARE A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS...
Coffee - black. Running. Peanut butter. Bananas. Reading. Traveling. Free Samples. Fall. Did I mention coffee?
IF YOU WEREN'T A TEACHER, WHAT WOULD YOU WANT TO BE?
My career aptitude test in high school said I should be a secret agent. I am the nosiest person on the planet. I love to watch Dateline. I like to think I would have made a pretty good detective. Luckily I chose a less dangerous profession. That doesn't mean I don't use my expert eavesdropping skills. :)
THREE LITTLE WORDS THAT DESCRIBE YOU.
Organized. Active. Go-getter.
FINISH THE SENTENCE, "________, SAID NO TEACHER EVER!!"
"Let's buy more programs!"
Q: IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY AND YOU CAN INVITE ANYONE {DEAD OR ALIVE} TO THE PARTY. WHO ARE YOU INVITING?
Paul Newman. An amazing actor and philanthropist.
Q:YOU GET TO PICK ONE SUPERPOWER. WHAT IS IT?
Flying. I hate driving. If I could just fly everywhere, it would be a dream come true.
Q: WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE QUOTE OR SAYING?
"We must be willing to let go of the life we have planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us."
Q: ARE YOU A MORNING PERSON OR A NIGHT OWL?
Definitely a morning person. During the school year, I wake up at 5 am to get a good run in before settling in for breakfast and heading to work.
Q: WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE RESOURCE THAT YOU'VE CREATED IN YOUR TPT SHOP?
I love using games to help reinforce phonics patterns. I am especially proud of this product because I made my own clipart!
Q: SHARE SOMETHING WE MIGHT NOT KNOW ABOUT YOU!
I am training for my first full marathon this November! Let's hope I live to tell the tale.
I hope you enjoyed learning a little bit more about me. Now head on over and check out the other teacher bloggers!
Amy,
ReplyDeleteSo glad to "meet" someone from my area. Good luck with your marathon. Exercise is a big outlet for me during the school year.

I've always wanted to be a secret agent!! And I laughed out loud when I read your finish the sentence. I cringe when I hear "New program". Fortunately our principal is pretty good about that.
ReplyDeleteDon't Let the Teacher Stay Up Late
That clip art is adorable! I would be proud of that product too! And so true about more programs. I would rather good PD that teaches us HOW to plan and teach the curriculum!
