Can you believe it is already October?! This school year is already well on its way! I love October, mostly because I love fall. I love all things pumpkin. I have already made about half a dozen different pumpkin baked goods and have pinned way more! I also really like Halloween, especially all the great movie classics, not to mention the candy! Now on the Currently for this month, hosted by the lovely Farley!
Listening
I love the old show Ghost Whisperer. It is not on TV regularly anymore, so I watch it on Netflix. I think Jennifer Love Hewitt is the most beautiful woman in the world. I also thought it was very fitting for October, seeing as she talks to ghosts and all. It really isn't that scary though. You should give it a try!
Loving
I am finally done giving the DRA! After DRA'ing 60 first graders, my brain is fried. I could not even stand to look at another DRA!
Thinking
Tonight I am going to a seminar about healthy eating. The woman speaking is phenomenal. She brings free samples and shares recipes with healthy substitutions. The seminar is organized by my running club. I am really excited to learn some new tips!
Wanting
Since we finally finished all this testing, I am ready to start running my intervention reading groups! I still have to wait for grade level meetings to go over the results, but the end is near! Soon I will be teaching! I am beyond excited. Once I am teaching more, I promise my blog will be more exciting!
Needing
I love fall weather. This week it is going to be in the 80s! That is not fall weather! I am ready to switch permanently to sweaters and boots. My school does not have air conditioning, so I am definitely over this hot weather.
Trick or Treat
I take most of my photos for my blog on my phone. Before, I was spending time editing each picture with Photoshop, but that takes awhile! Now, I use Instragram to edit my photos quickly on my phone and then transfer them to my computer using Google Drive! Much quicker, and I think they look better!
How was your healthy eating class? Any tips? So glad you've done with the DRA. yay!

I am over the hot weather too. Right now I am thankful we kept the air conditioner in our bedroom window. How was your healthy eating class?

I have never heard of Ghost Whisperer - but I will definitely have to check it out :)
ReplyDeleteI love fall too - we're getting plenty of tried-and-true fall weather in Seattle, so come on by :)
Thanks for the tip about editing in Instragram - that's going to save me lots of time!

Joy in the Journey
Hi Amy,
ReplyDeleteYour healthy eating seminar sounds wonderful. I agree with Jessica. The Seattle area has true fall weather happening.
Take care,
Air high-five coming your way from Kentucky, Amy! I DRA-ed my 90 5th graders for 2 full weeks (I did nothing but DRA), and felt like I deserved a metal when I finished...so do you! :) Not to do them again in December and May....ahahahahaaa!
