Pinterest Professional Development Linky!

Today I am linking up with Ideas by Jivey for her Pinterest Professional Development linky!

Who doesn't love Pinterest? I feel like it has taken over a small part of my life. I definitely believe that Pinterest is a more fun version of professional development. Here are a few of my new favorite pins!

This sounds like a fantastic way to organize your classroom library! You can use the app to keep track of students checking out books from your library. Students can choose books based on level. The best part is that you can scan the bar codes on the books! You do not have to individually type in every book. Doesn't seem too bad for $0.99!

This seems like such a positive way to motivate students to turn in their homework. At the beginning of the month everyone starts out in the homework club. At the end of the month, everyone who has turned in all their homework remains in the club. They get a special lunch in the classroom with the teacher. If they stay in the homework club all year, they get a pizza party!

I have been hearing about this for awhile now and really want to try it. It is called Remind101. The company sets up a phone number for you to communicate with parents, or whoever else you choose. This way you do not have to use your personal number. Then you can send reminders to parents that show up as a text-message. Sometimes emails can get buried, but text messages are usually seen.

Happy Pinning!

  1. Those are some great ideas! I would love to use a scanner app more in my classroom; that would require me remembering to bring in the ipad! I need a sticky note on the door.

  2. I LOVE the text message pin!! Joanne from Head Over Heels for Teaching and I were talking about this not too long ago - EVERYONE gets texts, but there are some of my students that don't have computers at home so emails don't happen... thank you for linking up such great ideas!
